Pioneer Dvr Xd10 Burner Software Mac Reviews
Jul 31, 2009 does anyone know where i can get the firmware for the PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K06. The drive came oem with my imac. I used the drive about 10 times only and it shows up fine in the apple system profiler -i'm sure it's just a software problem. Mar 19, 2006 The above drive will not read the dvds I wrote in Jan of this year!! I can't remember which system version I had installed then but now upgraded to: Mac OS X 10.3.9 (7W98) PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D: ATA-6 Bus: Vendor ID: 0x106b Device ID: 0x0043 Revision ID: 0x0000.
Make sure you have shut down (powered off) the iMac since this problem was noticed, then restarted.
Try this next. Go to System Preferences +CDs & DVDs+ pane. Change something on that pane. For example, change +When you insert a music CD+ to ignore. Then insert a music CD. It should mount the CD without doing anything else, but the disc should not be ejected. If that works, you can change it back the previous setting, such as *Open iTunes*. Try it again and see if it opens iTunes. If that work, try other types of discs to see if they now work.
If that does not help either, you can try resetting PRAM

and then use this reset SMC procedure to disconnect the iMac from power and re-connect it.

That might reset the optical drive. When you re-plug the power cord, have all peripherals (USB, FireWire, etc.) disconnected except for the standard USB keyboard/mouse. Start it up and try inserting a disc. If that works, connect your peripherals one by one and note if it stops working at any point.
